Thornybush Saseka Tented Camp

Greater Kruger National Park, South Africa

Saseka means “beautiful”, a very apt name for this intimate and luxurious camp. Situated on a bend of the seasonal Monwana River, this is one of our most-loved safari retreats in the Great Kruger National Park.

Thornybush have really gone the extra mile in creating Saseka Tented Camp. Designed to juxtapose nostalgic South African safari style and contemporary 21st-century design, each tented suite allows you to unwind amidst shades of sage, gray, apple and dusty pink, and boasts an outside shower, plunge pool and spacious game-viewing deck overlooking the riverbed. The main guest area is an elevated deck with tiered levels, where you can swap stories of the days’ adventures with fellow guests around the bar area or comfortable sitting areas.

Why We Love It:

Saseka means beautiful in the local Tsonga language and we must admit, with its prime location and luxurious suites complete with their own private deck, pool and outside shower, this lodge is living up to its name. Oh, and there is a resident leopard by the same name… watch out for her patrolling the dry river below.
