A Legendary Safari Experience in the Makgadikgadi Pans
Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, Botswana
Often described as a Kalahari legend, Jack’s Camp is one of Botswana’s most iconic safari experiences. Set on the edge of the vast Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, this historic camp combines dramatic desert landscapes with refined, old-world safari style.
The camp’s design pays homage to 1940s safari glamour, with nine spacious canvas suites adorned in rich, globally sourced textiles, Persian rugs, and carefully curated Natural History Museum cabinets. Despite the opulent interiors, the setting remains deeply connected to the surrounding wilderness. Each suite features an ensuite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers, along with a private veranda and plunge pool overlooking the endless pans.
At the heart of camp lies the expansive mess tent, home to an extraordinary collection of artefacts, a library, antique pool table, and a well-stocked drinks chest. Between activities, guests often gravitate to the tea tent, browse the small boutique, or simply pause to absorb the silence and scale of the desert.
Jack’s Camp offers a safari experience unlike anywhere else in Botswana, focused less on classic game drives and more on place, culture, and storytelling.
