Why We Love Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge

Sandibe has a rare ability to make guests feel instantly at home. The staff are warm and personable, and the thoughtful layout of the lodge allows for both social interaction and complete privacy, depending on the mood of the day.

The interactive kitchen is a particular highlight. Guests are invited to spend time with the chefs, learning about local flavours and taking part in the creation of delicious meals. It adds a personal and engaging dimension to the overall safari experience.

Insider’s Tip: Sandibe is exceptionally well suited to photographers. The safari vehicles are among the best in the industry, featuring bucket seats with customisable configurations, padded roll bars, charging points for cameras and equipment, and camera bean bags mounted on clamps.

FAQs About Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge

Where is andBeyond Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge located?

andBeyond Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge is located in the Okavango Delta, Botswana, set on a private concession of approximately 55,600 acres that borders the Moremi Game Reserve. This exclusive setting allows for excellent wildlife viewing in a low density safari environment.

What wildlife can I expect to see at Sandibe?

Sandibe is renowned for its exceptional wildlife viewing, driven by its expansive private concession and varied Delta habitats. Guests regularly encounter large herds of elephant moving through open floodplains, along with plains game such as zebra and a wide variety of antelope species that attract predators year round.

The area is also well known for its predator sightings. Leopard are frequently seen, lion prides patrol the concession, and African wild dogs are regularly encountered as they move through the open grasslands and woodland edges. Troops of baboon are a constant presence, adding energy and character to the landscape, while the diversity of birdlife reflects the richness of the Okavango ecosystem.

Is Sandibe suitable for honeymooners?

Yes. With just 12 private suites, a secluded setting and a strong focus on personalised service, Sandibe is particularly well suited to honeymooners and couples.

Our very own Marketing Manager, Sean Messham, chose to spend four days of his own honeymoon here, drawn by the lodge’s privacy, exceptional wildlife viewing and relaxed atmosphere.
