We absolutely love the tranquil setting of Simbavati River Lodge. Situated on the banks of the Kruger National park’s Nhlaralumi River, in the equally famous Timbavati Game Reserve, this beautiful safari haven offers something for every traveler. 

One of the main drawcards of the lodge is that it is set on the doorstep of a popular waterhole, which is frequented by herds of elephant and other plains game. You can enjoy sightings from the dining deck throughout the year. Another firm tick in our box is the selection of accommodation options. You can choose from its tented luxury suites, tented pool suites or three of the lodge’s family chalets – each featuring a lovely ensuite bathroom and all the modern amenities and facilities you could wish for. The two tented suites feature private plunge pools. Additional guest areas include a safari spa, lodge boma, lodge pool, a Cub’s Club discovery center and playroom, and a fully equipped fitness center.

Why We Love It:

Children are well taken care of at Simbavati, one of the few safari havens that has a dedicated children’s center. This is an ideal place for younger kids to hang out with games, bean bags and partake in craft opportunities. Childminders are available too in case parents want some downtime.
