Wilderness Vumbura Plains is one of our favourite retreats in the Okavango Delta. It sits in the north-eastern region of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, on a vast private concession that borders the Moremi Game Reserve. The setting is extraordinary. Wide-open floodplains stretch out in every direction, and wildlife moves freely through the concession throughout the year.
This is one of the few camps in Botswana that offers exceptional land and water safaris all year. Guests can enjoy game drives, mokoro excursions, boating, walking safaris and scenic helicopter flights. The variety of activities makes Vumbura Plains ideal for couples, families and honeymooners who want both adventure and comfort.
The camp is divided into two raised satellite camps. Each has its own main area and a collection of contemporary suites positioned for sweeping floodplain views. Suites are spacious and beautifully designed. Each one includes an ensuite bathroom, a private plunge pool and an outdoor sala. Interiors combine wood, glass and canvas with curated artworks that reflect the Delta’s cultural heritage.
