 FAQs About Seychelles

When is the best time to visit the Seychelles?

The Seychelles is a year round destination with consistently warm tropical weather, making it an excellent choice in every season. Many travelers prefer the months of April, May, October and November, when the seas are calm, the water is clear and visibility is outstanding for snorkeling and diving. These months often deliver some of the best marine conditions in the Indian Ocean.

From June to September: the south east trade winds bring slightly cooler temperatures, lower humidity and steady breezes. This period is ideal for hiking, beach walks and photographing the islands’ famous granite landscapes. The winds can create livelier seas on certain coastlines, but the islands always offer sheltered beaches where swimming remains comfortable.

January to March: brings warmer temperatures and occasional tropical showers. These rains are usually brief, and travellers enjoy lush vegetation, fewer visitors and vibrant marine life close to shore.

Overall, the Seychelles offers reliable sunshine, warm water and beautiful conditions throughout the year, giving travellers the flexibility to visit whenever it suits their itinerary.

Which islands should I visit in the Seychelles?

Most travelers begin on Mahe for its beaches, national parks and luxury resorts, then continue to Praslin to explore the Vallee de Mai and its relaxed island atmosphere. La Digue is known for its iconic granite boulders and clear lagoons, while private islands such as North Island, Desroches, Fregate and Cousine offer complete privacy, elegant villas and world class Indian Ocean experiences.

Co-founder Kyle Green also recommends keeping an eye on Fregate Island, reopening in 2026. The private island has supported an ongoing conservation project for twenty one years and now protects more than three thousand five hundred giant tortoises.

Is the Seychelles a good destination after a safari?

Yes. Many Ubuntu Travelers choose to relax in the Seychelles after their safari. It is one of the most popular post safari island extensions in Africa.

With calm turquoise waters, direct flights from Nairobi and Johannesburg and a wide selection of private island retreats, the Seychelles offers a seamless transition from the African bush to a luxury beach escape. The combination of privacy, warm weather and exceptional marine life makes it a favourite for both honeymoons and family travel.
