Beaches, Wildlife & Romance
Best for: COUPLES, ADVENTURE, Big Five SAFARI, GREAT MIGRATION, ROMANCE
This Tanzania and Zanzibar itinerary is designed to amaze. It blends romance, wildlife, and adventure across two unforgettable destinations. Your journey ends in the turquoise waters of Zanzibar.
Start in Arusha, the gateway to the Serengeti and Mount Kilimanjaro. After a short stop to refresh, fly to Tarangire National Park. This remote park is known for its large elephant herds and ancient baobab trees.
Next, visit the Ngorongoro Crater. This is the world’s largest intact caldera and one of the best places to see the Big Five. Then head into the Serengeti for open plains, big cats, and, at the right time of year, the Great Wildebeest Migration. Finish your trip in Zanzibar. Relax on white-sand beaches, explore local spice markets, and enjoy the laid-back rhythm of island life.

What will you experience on this Honeymoon Safari?
Arusha | Tanzania
Nestled at the base of Mount Meru, Arusha is a vibrant city surrounded by coffee plantations, lively markets, and eclectic restaurants and bars.
Known as the safari capital of Tanzania, Arusha is also a popular stop for travelers preparing to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. During your stay, consider visiting the National Natural History Museum, the Laetoli footprint site, and Shanga, a local workshop that supports people with disabilities through glasswork and weaving.
Tarangire National Park | Tanzania
Located just over 100 kilometers from Arusha, Tarangire National Park is a quiet and often overlooked safari destination in northern Tanzania.
Renowned for its large elephant herds, Tarangire has one of the highest elephant concentrations in the country. During the dry season, elephants gather by the hundreds along the Tarangire River.
This peaceful park is perfect for travelers seeking an authentic safari experience. Its vast open plains and low visitor numbers offer a slower, more intimate alternative to Tanzania’s busier northern circuit.
Ngorongoro Crater | Tanzania
The Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders, offers an unforgettable safari experience inside a three-million-year-old volcanic caldera.
Often called the Garden of Eden, this dramatic landscape is home to thriving wildlife. Expect lion prides, hyena clans, large elephant bulls, and rare sightings of endangered black rhinos.
Bird lovers can visit Lake Magadi to see pelicans, flamingos, and the impressive Kori Bustard. Adventurous travelers can also hike the nearby Olmoti or Empakai Craters for sweeping highland views.
Serengeti National Park | Tanzania
Escape to the Northern Serengeti, a remote region of Tanzania’s oldest national park where visitor numbers remain low.
Driven by the rains, the year-round Great Wildebeest Migration brings over 1.5 million wildebeest, 400,000 zebras, and 200,000 gazelles across the plains. The Northern Serengeti typically sees dramatic crossings from August to October, with herds returning again in November.
Big cat sightings are excellent throughout the year. Lions rest on rocky outcrops, leopards hide in woodlands, and cheetahs race across the grasslands.
Zanzibar | Tanzania
Zanzibar is an island rich in history and culture. For centuries, it has attracted seafarers, traders, and merchants to its iconic shoreline. Set in the Indian Ocean, just off the coast of Tanzania, Zanzibar is an archipelago of islands, each offering something unique. It’s the perfect place to reflect and soak up your time in Africa.
Explore the bustling fish markets and winding alleys of Stone Town, or unwind on tranquil beaches and exclusive private islands. Zanzibar is where time slows down and island life takes over.
Relax on white-sand beaches. Snorkel or dive vibrant coral reefs. Cruise into the sunset on a traditional dhow.
