An Immersive Journey Through Kenya’s Wild Heart

Best for: Couples, Families, Romance, Quintessential Safari

There are few places in Africa as captivating as Kenya, a country that offers one of the most diverse and rewarding safari experiences on the continent. With an exceptional network of private conservancies and national parks, Kenya is a natural choice for travelers seeking a deeper connection to East Africa’s wildlife and landscapes.

Designed as a longer, more immersive journey, this Ultimate Kenya Safari begins with a short stopover in Nairobi before you travel by small aircraft to some of Kenya’s most celebrated safari regions. Along the way, expect outstanding Big Five game viewing, with regular sightings of lion, leopard, elephant, wildebeest, and, with luck, the endangered black rhino.

This is a safari that invites you to slow down and truly settle into the rhythm of the bush. From vast open plains to wildlife-rich conservancies, every day brings new encounters and a sense of timelessness at the heart of East Africa.

Nairobi | Kenya

Arriving in Kenya’s capital marks the start of your adventure. While it’s just a one-night stopover, Nairobi is a great place to shake off the jet lag and begin your journey with purpose.

Visit the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage and the Giraffe Center for meaningful, close-up encounters with two of Africa’s most iconic species. These experiences are both educational and inspiring, offering insight into local conservation efforts.

If you’re feeling energized, Nairobi National Park offers the chance to see zebra, giraffe, lion, and even rhino

Amboseli National Park | Kenya

Marvel at large herds of elephants and impressive tuskers with stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Did you know that Kilimanjaro is the tallest free-standing mountain in the world?

Located in southern Kenya, Amboseli National Park is one of the country’s most popular safari destinations. Along with elephants, you may also see Masai giraffe, zebra, antelope, lions, and possibly cheetahs on the open plains.

Our recommended stay is Angama Amboseli. This stylish new lodge is a true marvel, offering privacy, comfort, and unforgettable views of Kilimanjaro.

Masai Mara National Park | Kenya

The Masai Mara is Kenya’s most iconic safari destination. Its wide grassy plains and year-round wildlife make it ideal for a family safari.

Start your day with a sunrise hot-air balloon ride over the Mara. Adults can toast the view with a champagne breakfast while the kids enjoy the thrill of the flight. Later, take the family on a cultural visit to a Maasai village and learn about their way of life.

Between July and October, the Great Migration brings nearly 2 million wildebeest and zebra into the Mara. Witness dramatic river crossings and unforgettable wildlife action.

Mara Conservancies

Bordering the Masai Mara with no fences between them, the Mara Conservancies offer some of Kenya’s most exclusive safari experiences. These private, community-owned areas share the same wildlife as the main reserve, but with far fewer vehicles and greater freedom of movement.

Guests enjoy access to off-road game drives, walking safaris, and night drives, experiences not permitted inside the national reserve. With abundant wildlife and a strong conservation focus, the Mara Conservancies are ideal for travelers seeking a more intimate, uncrowded, and immersive safari while still benefiting from proximity to the Masai Mara.

Laikipia | Lewa Conservancy

Explore the high plains of Laikipia, a 65,000-acre conservation area known for its successful efforts to protect both black and white rhinos.

Ride camels with Samburu guides through the bush, spotting giraffes, ostriches, and the endangered Grevy’s zebra. Keep an eye out for the unusual gerenuk, a long-necked antelope unique to this region.

Alongside the Big Five, Laikipia is one of the few places in East Africa where you might see endangered African wild dogs, making it an unforgettable stop for families who love wildlife.
